For the first time since March of 2020, the trackers are showing “AF1” for Air Force One. I’ve been told by aircraft spotters this is because EU air traffic control regulations require the full callsign (whereas in the USA they can withhold the callsign if needed). Interesting he notes it’s been since March 2020 that the AF1 designation hasn’t been used, since not using it supposedly ‘meant’ something.
