“ Maybe you can source some goat’s milk and just make the cheese. If raw milk is needed for that, you can’t buy it for human consumption, but it can be bought for ‘pet consumption’. You have pets so who’s to say otherwise? There are things called goat milk shares you can buy. Or maybe find someone who does have goats and wants to start making cheese. Maybe a barter-swap the equipment for a share of of cheese a month.”
Now that sounds like a lot of trouble. I think I’ll just get rid of the equipment :-)
Just think how much trouble taking care of goats, milking them, having to deal with the offspring they'll have so you can have the milk....24/7! LOL
Does kinda put it all in perspective, doesn't it? That's how I talked myself out of getting a homestead.
There a woman that has a goat farm about 20 miles from here. She makes the BEST cheese different spices, etc.a few stores carry it and she sells at the chicken farm.
