I saw that, yeah! I’ll celebrate when the governor signs it. I hear it’s not perfect, but it’s a good start.
I wish they would think these through. Tennessee concealed carry can now be obtained with an online course only.
That’ll mess up the reciprocity agreement with the majority of other states. Before Tennessee made the change, getting a concealed carry permit meant you could also carry in 38 other states! (https://www.usconcealedcarry.com/resources/ccw_reciprocity_map/)
Of course someone could still take the in-person classes, but the reciprocity won’t be automatic any more for all those states. And most people won’t do it. This really limits the right to carry freedom.
