‘...I lived in NorCal at the time,...”
When we lived in San Jose from 1961 to 1979 I don’t recall seeing any Mexican’s anywhere except in the fields (The Bracero Program until 1964). I never saw in the stores nor the two neighborhoods I lived in, East San Jose and SW San Jose were all white. I worked at 3 different simi conductor plants and I did see 2 Mexican women working in one of them. They could speak good English, but at times they spoke Spanish. (I figured they were talking about someone)
After we moved to WA in 1979 I think that is when changes really started. When we got a computer I started looking on Zillo and saw that the area in East San Jose ALL the houses were bought out by Mexican’s. In SW San Jose homes were ALL bought out by Asians. Fremont area became mostly Indians from India.

The post you responded to was about white criminals, but I see what you’re saying about illegals. In 6th grade in Livermore, a family moved in from Mexico as their dad had gotten a job there. One of the daughters was in my class and I was assigned to help her with English. I ended up learning Spanish while teaching her English, for 3 years. Back then the kids could go to school if they came in legally, and there were no special teachers of classes for them.
