Yes they could have done that in the hopes they would have chose electors that would vote for Trump. So many states are NOW adopting laws that makes it so electors can ONLY vote for the person the state voted for.
If the election is reversed (which I don’t anticipate but for the sake of discussion) then Pence would be VP.
I’ve seen people opine that he could immediately resign, but if he’s so power hungry as people seem to think, why would he? As far as we know, Trump is in good health, but he is almost 75. An acquaintance died this morning from a sudden heart attack who was 10 years younger than that.
Cheney voted for impeachment/= against MAGA.
Stefanik defended P Trump/= supports MAGA.

I don't care if one likes or dislikes Pence. What I don't care for is people just throwing out statements as fact and yet they never show proof to back it up.
The GOPe are plentiful and world-class backstabbers and are part and parcel of the Uniparty. Gaetz and Greene are existential threats to them, so the last thing the GOPe want to do is empower them by giving a leadership position to either of them.
Kevin McCarthy was/is Paul Ryan’s shoeshine boy...
MAGA represents a hostile takeover of the do-nothing GOP in the most basic or classic sense.
Elaine Stefanik is probably the best MAGA can get at this time and to her credit, she has shone more backbone than most GOP have in recent memory.

Happy Mother’s Day to our moms. Jens having her mom over. She requested I made quiche. Which I just worked on. Crustless. Ricotta. Swiss n mozzarella cheese. Heavy cream red pepper. Onion. Asparagus , shrimp n bacon. Will serve with wild greens n arugula n a small fruit side w honey vanilla Greek yogurt hurt. Pineapple. Blueberries n strawberries. Cheesecake for dessert. I’d have rather they went out but neither one will n haven’t since last March. The media fear well done with them.

I wouldn’t say he’s “THE” authority, but he is very knowledgeable, has argued and won SC cases, and has been a pretty reliable conservative (ignoring his election meltdown).
I never liked Pence but couldn’t say that here without being attacked and bullied. I think he was forced on Trump - an establishment RINO so the GOP would back the ticket.
Speaking of being attacked, we can agree to disagree here. And still be friends after. At least we are not arguing with liberals, ick! And we would all support Trump no matter what, and that’s the important thing, to me anyway.
