Ever been in a big meeting: File you need won’t open?
Replace “file” with “chute”.
That’s why I say no to skydiving.

“Police did not provide a cause of death.”Of course it will be listed as covid.

Why anybody wants to jump out of a perfectly good airplane is beyond me....................I asked myself the same question as I was preparing for my drop from the Tower at Jump School. While I was putting on my harness, there was a huge commotion. I looked up, and a friend of mine was dangling 200+ feet above me. The wind shifted a millisecond after the parachute was released, and blew him into the tower.
I asked myself the same question before my 3rd jump, from a C-141. I was on the third "stick", i.e. the third pass and was seated 10 feet from the open door.
You can imagine my joy and relief to walk off the drop zone after my fifth and final jump, which earned me my airborne wings.

That actually brought back memories of cadences from Ft Benning, decades ago.

Pin my wings upon my chest, bury me in the leaning rest.

I went through Airborne School in November 1976. My first jump was from a C-123. Loved it, everybody was able to jump on the first pass. C-141s usually took 3 passes.

They said the woman was “very experienced.”and
The folks on the ground said this was his 300th jump Any sport that will kill you on the first failure is not for me. I have read numerous articles which stressed how many successful jumps the deceased had, but they always ended with "funeral services will be held".
It's like saying"The Russian Roulette player was successful 1,000 times, but . . ."

She didn’t realize the gravity of the situation until it was too late.
Prayers for the Woman, her Family and Friends.

Went through parachuting class in the military... I did as well, and like you, found no interest whatsoever in doing it for a hobby.

I would NEVER trust someone else to pack my chute!
I would NEVER trust MYSELF to pack my chute!
No skydiving for me.

I was a Paratrooper in the Army. It was part of the Job description.
Once I got out I never once thought I wanted to do it again.

You don’t need a parachute to go skydiving, you need one if you are going to do it a second time.

Why anyone would venture into the air in a single-engine aircraft is beyond me. ;-)
