This is old news, yet the study missed an important detail. SARS-CoV-2 in the bat population lives inside a co-infection with the Prevotella bacterium...the same found in human dental disease Oral Microbiome and SARS-CoV-2: Beware of Lung Co-infection
The Prevotella organism is a strict anaerobe. It can live in creases in gum tissue and also in the lungs. SARS-CoV-2 can use Prevotella as a host organism in addition to human cells. The addition of azithromycin to the hydroxychloroquine plus zinc treatment ensured that this secondary reservoir of SARS-CoV-2 was killed as well.
It is unlikely that oral-swallowed azithromycin is going to reach periodontal bacteria in any useful quantity via the bloodstream.
