I like it. Unless you do your Internet on your phone, download the app for PC and then remove it from your phone. I like it better on the PC than on my phone. It runs my phone battery down too fast.
I don’t get it. Maybe you can clarify. I don’t have a smartphone, but do have the Telegram app for PC, which apparently won’t work (fully) without having the phone too. I can’t sign up, or view certain videos. It always prompts me to sign in, and tells me I have to scan some Q something code (I forget the name, that little square graphic thingy) with my nonexistent phone... so, how are you running it just from your PC? What am I missing?
I have a smartphone and signed up on it after downloading the Telegram app for the phone. After I found out I didn’t like it on the phone I downloaded the app for PC. I signed in with my phone number and password to use the app on the computer. I didn’t have to scan the barcode since I already had it on my phone when I signed up.
Will the phone you do have (if you have one) scan a barcode? You have to download a barcode scanning app for it to do that.
Let me see what I can find out.
OK, I looked it up and according to the instructions you can sign up with your phone number even if you don’t have the app on your phone, any phone. They need the number to send you the code by text to let you sign up. You can make the phone number private so that nobody can see it. On my PC app it has an option to change my number.
Do you have a phone that will accept texts?
