“It is getting next to impossible to find a Pop Tart WITHOUT the frosting. I used to be able to get Blueberry and Strawberry, at least. Now I am down to just strawberry, and I have to hunt for it.”

It’s good to know that there are still some without the frosting. Thanks for writing that. Next time I shop I will look for them.

Nowadays I buy all my groceries online. Sometimes, when I don’t feel up to it, I pay the additional $9.95 and have them delivered. I shop at Meijer, Kroger and Walmart. One of those stores ought to have pop tarts without frosting.

Those bring back memories.....

We not only buttered our saltines, we put grape jelly on them, too.

“Butter on steak”

Now you’re talking. A lot of chefs on tv will throw a big hunk of butter in the skillet with the steak and finish it off with basting the butter repeatedly onto the steak.

Graham crackers — me, too. Excellent.

My mom raised me on poached eggs on toast with a pat of butter in the middle of each egg. When I was little, she would cut the toast and egg up into small squares for me. Yum!

Not me. I’ll only butter a tuna melt or grilled cheese sandwich. I’ll eat butter on bread at a restaurant from time to time but lately just prefer to dip it into a vinegar dressing if available. Or I’ll melt butter if lobster is on sale.

And actually, we rarely have butter. The wife mainly buys some kind of margarine. Not sure if it is any “better for you” or worse. We do have real butter she uses for some cooking. I don’t even butter the pan before making eggs. That drives the missus mad :-)

Spread butter on a slice of bread than sprinkle with sugar. Lights out delicious!

Margarine is bad for you if it has hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated fat in it. You might want to check the ingredients on the label.

” I’ll eat butter on bread at a restaurant from time to time”

I’ll ask for butter on the side for my potatoes. Hash browns in most restaurants tend to be dry. Putting a couple pats of butter on them makes them taste much better.

We use Kerry Gold. It’s pretty good.

I don’t know if it’s common or not but a slice of bread (or toast preferably) with butter, then peanut butter on that, is one of my go to hunger killers.

I’m fond of Land o Lakes with olive oil on a Bay’s English Muffin. Can’t leave the Land o Lakes out of the fridge though, it turns into a soup because of the olive oil in it. But the flavor is outstanding. Think I’ll go have one now!

Try Walgreens. I’ve had luck sometimes finding unfrosted blueberry pop tarts for my hubby.

When I crave a “sweet”, and we have no cookies or candy... I’ll take a slice of toast, put butter on it, then light sprinkling of sugar and cinnamon. 5 seconds in the microwave, if the butter didn’t melt completely. YUM

Land O Lakes Butter and Olive Oil. Best thing I’ve ever found.

Larger and sliced. also I seem to taste a bit of yeast in the muffin dough. Gives them a hint of buttery flavor to start with. Thomas raisin and cinnamon are the best from just natural.

Also give the buttered toasted English Muffin a shake of cinnamon and sugar. I save a seasoning bottle washed out and dried to mix up some cinnamon and sugar for side works.
