Hostess Brand on Saturday issued a voluntary recall of certain single-serve SnoBalls due to an undeclared allergen, according to a U.S. Food and Drug Administration alert.
The alert claims that some SnoBalls pastries were manufactured in the wrong packaging. Hostess said SnoBalls snack cakes made on March 13, 2021, were packaged in Chocolate CupCakes, and it does not list coconut as an ingredient.
Hostess said the recalled items UPC is 888109010096. The "Best By Date" is listed as May 27, 2021.
The FDA said the recalled products were sold in convenience stores, dollar stores, and distributors throughout the United States.
Voluntary Recall of Hostess SnoBalls Due to Undeclared Allergen. There haven't been any reports of injury related to the recall, according to the FDA alert, but any customers who purchased the product are urged to contact the place of purchase to receive a full refund.
The FDA said no other varieties of Hostess SnoBalls are affected by the packaging error.

Time to overturn cars and loot!!
I don’t eat that kind of stuff anymore, but darn, I love those things.
I’ll be glad to dispose of a couple of packages of those recalled products free of charges.
Maybe the Snoballs identified as Chocolate CupCakes. Who are we to put labels on anything? "Hostess" itself is a sexist and outdated label invented by the patriarchy.
Snoballs are my favorite Hostess item, behind the old recipe for Ding Dongs, though.
The newer Ding Dong without the same fats for the coating as before, tastes bad.
I’m at the age where all I have to do is look at one of those, and I gain weight.
... I think people would notice that difference....
“I’m getting my ‘Balls’ mixed up!”
Said the hungry and confused shopper.
I LOVE Sno-balls, but maybe only eat them 2-3 times a year, if that.
I love the rubbery marshmallow coconut “topping”. YUM
Good one, SJ.
Original company Hostess went bankrupt and rights to their name were bought and repacked. The quality went south too. Sugary dreck.
“Dave, you have one job here at Hostess. You make sure the right product goes in the right package. What happened?”
“I don’t know. I smoked my medicine, and then I wondered if all the snowmen were talking in high voices now, and I got confused.”
Looks like they are referring to the single-serve plastic packages rather than the box.
The issue it appears is not that they can’t see the difference, but that the labeling does not contain an allergy warning due to an ingredient that is in one product, but not the other.
Its all Bimbo now
