"Orcas are a really peculiar species with very finicky eating habits."

There is documented history in Australia of Killer Whales cooperating with local whalers to herd whales into a kill zone and even notify the whalers that they had prey located then lead them to the whales. After the kill the whalers would leave the whale overnight for the orcas who only feasted on the tongue.

This went on for decades on either side of the turn of the 19th century.

Weird. I have read that Orcas are one of the smartest marine animals. But, that’s wild.

Jaysus! That picture of the Whalers gives me nightmares! Not only do I HATE open water, I also hate all of the evil things underneath said water that want to eat me alive!

Kind of funny, though. My ancestors were English whalers! I have a whale tooth that has been passed down through the family for for-ever. It measures 11” long. No scrimshaw on it, though. ;)
