On Jan. 10, Chinese scientists uploaded the genetic sequence of a novel coronavirus, later named SARS-CoV-2, to an open-access website, GenBank. The virus had been linked to a growing number of mysterious pneumonia cases, and its rapid spread was beginning to raise alarms. A few hours later, Barney Graham woke up and saw the sequence. Though it was a Saturday, he got right to work.
Days before, his lab at the US National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) had partnered with the biotech company Moderna to design an experimental vaccine for the virus, which causes the disease COVID-19. All they’d needed to start was that sequence.
Six months later, Moderna began testing that COVID-19 vaccine in a Phase 3 clinical trial of 30,000 people. Results are expected later this fall.

Well I see you're up to speed on Satanic music.
No wonder you're in favor of the jab and presumably all the restrictions unless you've had it.
Which leads back to the original topic.
...btw, you missed the other connection.
Ozzy (by repute) used to bite the head off of a bat in concert. The Chinese say this started with a bat, denying a bioweapon. Checkmate.

You keep your devil music away, bumpkin.
Ain't nobody got time for that.

We got enough problems already with the devil vax.

null and void :" Trust the very people who developed the biological warfare agent, Hu deliberately spread it to the rest of the world,
who Xi-ted at every turn, to tell US Hao to treat it? "
Exactly true :".. Hu deliberately spread it to the rest of the world,.."
The Chinese government and then persecuted the very doctors who identified the Wuhan covid-19 outbreak, and then destroyed all the doctors research notes.
They then ordered all their international compatriots to buy up world-wide the entire virus PPE resources : (gowns, gloves, face masks, etc.) and sought to corner and control the market.
If the government would have even attempted control of international air flights out of Wuhan, China, in order to restrict spread of the infectious disease,
I would be less apt to believe that the infectious disease wasn't a bio-weapon; but, that didn't happen !
Besides persecuting the initial doctors who identified the disease and destroying their research notes,
the Chinese government said that it wasn't infectious, and wasn't 'communicable from human-to-human'.
That's a blatant lie (!) and led to the world-wide crisis that we are in, today !

I got your consensus right here.
Reuters notes, “China, Denmark, France, Hong Kong and Singapore recommend social distancing of 1 meter, and many people also choose to, or are required to, wear face masks in public spaces. Australia, Belgium, Greece, Germany, Italy, Spain and Portugal advise people to keep 1.5m apart. Switzerland this week also reduced the required distance to 1.5m from 2m. The guidance in the United States is six feet, or 1.8m.”

Where have I stated that I’m in favor of anything? He's right, GW. HG never takes a stand FOR anything. He's just AGAINST everything (except devil music).
Against everything but for nothing. The mind of the anti-Q bots. HG is them amplified, a caricature of cynicism writ large.
That's our boy.

You have a reputation as even more of a curmudgeon than me; and at least I post funny cat pictures.
You’re making stuff up, just like Qtards always do.
Innocent on both charges.
The only people making things up are the sheep demanding that the entire population be jabbed with an experimental treatment for the sake of a virus with an overall fatality rate of 0.4% or whatever, and that with goosed-up fake reporting numbers and the forced housing early on, of sufferers with the one group that was truly vulnerable: elderly nursing home patients.

EXCELLENT!!!
I don’t see, or am not clever enough to extract, where these massive sequences are cross checked. Nor the results w.r.t the original sequence the Chinese released.
On honest sequences I’d expect a pretty good match, with minor variations due to unavoidable sequencing errors and genetic drift.
I assume you’ve done, or at least know of such a cross check?
Anyway, thanks for bringing actual data to the table. I wish more people did that in any of these discussions (debates? arguments? flame wars?)...

I've always though the Borg used the wrong approach.
Instead of actively invading and forced conversions, they could have simply parked a cube in earth orbit and offered Borg immortality to anyone in extremis.
Judging by how may people are rolling up their sleeves for a not fully tested vaccine using novel, unproven technology to avoid the possibility of catching a disease with a fraction of a percent chance of being fatal, the Borg wouldn't be able to keep up with the demand!
OTOH, loads of people download the latest Microsoft update or patch, or patch's patch, or patch's patch's patch before it' been fully tested!
Hmmm, what other untested massive release is Bill Gates involved in...

That is not driven by “Big Pharma” secretly paying them all Quite true. Pharma companies are getting billions of dollars quite openly and above board.
As a society we are depending on the barber to tell us we need haircuts, so to speak.
Sometimes you really do need a haircut. Sometimes the barber simply needs some rent money. Which is this?
Vaccines are quite appropriate for high risk populations.
Otherwise healthy children are at essentially zero risk, they are who are being targeted right now...

Nope, just check. It was a serious question. As semimojo noted, the do compare sequences to target strains, so clearly there has been some cross checking.
What I'd like to know is what was in the original Chinese sequence that is missing from later sequencing.
I've heard rumors that the original sequence has spongiform encephalopathy prions as one of the spike proteins.
They cause mad cow's disease in bovines and, variant form of Creutzfeldt–Jakob disease in humans.
If this spike was chosen for an mRNA vaccine target would vaccinated people get what we might call "mad dragon disease"? (I hereby claim priority on "mad dragon disease"!)

What I'd like to know is what was in the original Chinese sequence that is missing from later sequencing. The key question. Which further begs the question, why would the very people who dropped the rona on us intentionally, give us the proper sequence.
That is the whole purpose of this exercise, neh?

I assume you’ve done, or at least know of such a cross check?I certainly haven't done them myself but the "cross check" is the purpose of doing these sequences in the first place.
If the virus never changed there would be no need to do a new sequence, and if you didn't compare yours to previous sequences yours would serve no purpose.
As I said before, the way you identify variants is to "cross check".

House Atreides: The “sequences” of the virus were not picked out of the air ... they came from the “mapping” of the virus.
~~~~~~~~~~~
ransomnote: To anyone following along, I never said that the sequences were picked out of the air, I said they came from China’s mapping of the virus.
Ultimately, comparing House Atreides comment to mine, you can decide if he agrees with me.
