I am reading the story right now. There is a message along the bottom of my screen: You are seeing this message because ad or script blocking software is interfering with this page. Disable any ad or script blocking software, then reload this page. but it isn't stopping me from ignoring it, scrolling down and reading the story.

If you've never been to the site before it might also be giving the standard EU warning about cookies, along with a way to either refuse them or choose which ones you want to track you. That is supposed to be for your benefit but it's mostly a PITA everyone ignores as they agree to everything they want.
