Why would Trump be so smart and weed out bad advice/intelligence for decades and then as soon as he’s president, get dumb?

I think Powell is either underestimating Trump and/or does not know what he is doing now behind the scenes, or putting out disinfo to keep the enemy in the dark.

Those explanations had crossed my mind; or, he is deliberately keeping all but one or two *totally* in the dark; because, since he is no longer President, a lot of his tools, weapons, and defenses, are now gone.
