Thanks, definitely above my paygrade/education level though. Hmm, just looked up blood types. I don’t see anything about RH positive or negative. Will look some more. Hmm, still not grokking, what is the connection between RH factor and the “regular” list of blood types? AHA! Now I get it, the negative or positive attached to the blood type means the RH factor. I was wondering what my blood type is since all I remember is being told by a doc years ago it was the rarest kind. So it’s negative anyway.

Don’t know what you mean about being “directly linked to Rhesus” monkeys. Rh factor refers to a type of protein — and there are many others — that is found on the surface of RBCs. The “Rh” part was used to name it because of the fact that the rhesus monkey was used in lab work to identify this factor.
Most people are Rh positive. The only time one needs to be concerned about this factor is in pregnancy. If a mother is Rh negative and her unborn baby is positive, the mother’s immune system might attack the fetus as a foreign body.
N.B.: I simplified that Rh info a bit. So I hope no medical people flame me.
