Cancel Culture and The Salem Witch Hunts

This is not America’s first brush with cancel culture, but we can bring it to a better, quicker end if we show courage now rather than hoping it burns itself out.

In 1692, a group of hysterical teenage girls in Salem, Massachusetts, began denouncing girls from rival families as witches. Accusations of witchcraft soon multiplied and spread throughout the town; some of the accused were as young as four years old. Ultimately, 200 people were tried, and dozens executed, for fictitious crimes. The court did not require evidence, as the accusations themselves were considered proof of guilt.

There are obvious parallels between the Salem Witch hunts and today’s cancel culture, especially in the ubiquitous and toxic accusation of racism. The accusation alone smears the accused as guilty, and the denounced party has no way to defend against the charge. Looking back at Salem gives us insight into the conditions that enable cancel culture to take root, why the public tolerates it, and how it might end.

Beginning with the 2016 Presidential election campaign, the Democratic Party and media, in an effort to gin up the black vote, began claiming police racism every time a police officer killed a black person.

Charges of racism soon spread beyond the police, and our entire society and history as a country is now being accused of “systemic racism.” Just as the citizens of Salem saw the Devil in everything and everyone, our modern witch hunters now see the specter of racism everywhere. They have convinced themselves that the United States is permeated by “systemic white racism.” Schools teach “critical race theory,” essentially anti-white, racism. What began with tearing down statues of Confederate generals soon spread to tearing down statues of Grant and Lincoln.

There was no “Democrat Klan” the original Klan were Confederate Veterans and no Nathan Forrest didn’t start it.
There were blacks Jews Hispanics plus many other in it as well ya wanna whom carried out the bloodiest attacks, on the Yankees who were attempting to mass genocide on the South land?
Black Klansman some of whom were lead scouts who rode General Nathan Forrest do you anything about the reconstruction period? Did you know that Nathan Forrest championed equality? Both during the war and after too. Quit listening to drug head Beck and quit watching Mississippi burning go out and learn real history lot of the old Black timers here in the South land tried to teach the young ones the truth, but it wouldn’t hold here in the South in Dixie we lived and die for one another all of us black white alike; it’s you Yankees whom divides us with your lefty psuedo historical revisionism and communist racial critical theory.

Lincoln originally intended to send the blacks to colonies be it in Liberia etc. Him and Major general Benjamin Butler, we’re working on it prior to Lincoln’s Butler, even suggestion creating ones if the others could not be fully accommodated. But then the radical Repubs saw with the blacks, like they do with current Latino’s a new voting block that enriched them with $$$$$$$ and votes that saw their national order become the NWO.
