Since I work at WM, I know the policy of my very small town store only. We still have “health monitors” who cover the two entrances. They are there to offer masks to those who want one. Occasionally you will get someone that lets the power go to their head and they stop the people and tell them they must wear it.
Last time I was on door duty, I just gave out the masks when they wanted them. Told them to say “health issue” if questioned.
What surprised me the most is how many people are STILL wearing the darn things and how many come in and say OMG, I forgot my mask, do you have one?
We have a long way to go on this one. They are programmed to wear the face diaper. This is a military town.

SMH. Well, I hate to hear that. Talk about programming-junk science prevails it seems. Ha. I guess it seems like a small thing to many, but to me we have to start somewhere, and this is something I can do with no sweat. Take my business elsewhere will be ok with me.
And to find out from Horowitz’s article that it is basically not legal under the public health safety/emergency act to require it, makes me even more determined.

I have an announcement! Tomorrow the house gets tented for termites. I’m scrambling. Got the back house packed. I’m at 100 boxes!! I have more than 100 to go, I know it.
Termite, tomorrow, Thur, comes off Fri, wait God knows how many hours to get in the house. I have a guest house so that’s where we’ll be. Internet is sketchy.
But I will be packing the guest house and cleaning it. Then I head to the cabana and clean it.
I have a girl coming on Sat to help me do some cleaning, while I pack the kitchen up and whatever else. If I think too much about what needs packing, I get a lil anxiety.
We close escrow on Fri I think. I still have the dreaded attic. We plan on being gone by the 23rd and in Colorado on Sat.
The moving truck comes on the 20th. He said 2 days to pack?
So.. I will be MIA until I am in Colorado. Maybe not until May sometime.
Lyby has my cell # so if anything exciting happens will ya text me???

But, what’s really so gross about Walensky’s comments is the claim that said spike is happening because states are reopening too quickly. That’s a favorite left-wing talking point, but it holds no basis in reality.
The only reason that claim is made is to attack states like Florida, Texas, Mississippi, and others that have removed restrictions.
Yet, if you look at the data, the spikes that she’s feeling “impending doom” about are occurring in blue, locked down states. NPR has a portal that shows the current case rates per state.
Notice what the worst states are, who leads them, and where they are located. I took a screenshot and put it in a tweet so I could easily embed it here.
At that NPR link, you can also click on the individual states to view their specific graphs. What you’ll see is that Florida, Texas, Mississippi, Tennessee, etc. are all seeing declining caseloads and positivity rates.
Meanwhile, more locked down states like New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania are seeing an elevation in infections.
In other words, Walensky’s “off script” rant is nonsense. The problem is not a lack of mitigation or states that have reopened. The problem, once again, mostly resides in the states with the strictest mitigation measures in place.
People can argue about why that is, but what can’t be argued is that she’s purposely misleading people by asserting that this is somehow the fault of states that value freedom over ineffective mandates.
