Cultural differances.
Family member married a black person. They were very concerned my kids went to a private religious school, because in some parts of the south that was how white families kept their schools segregated.
Till that in law saw my kids birthday party and realized Iowa is not South Carolina.
It took that person decades to realize we didn’t give a rip about their skin color. At first that bothered them more, but after a while they began to realize that they held some world views that were as problematic as a stereotypical racist.
Hell it wasn’t until then I realized that being able to swim was “racist”. All the kids I grew up with in the Midwest knew how to swim. No matter where they were from. It was part of the culture. This person did not learn till they were an adult because in their home town, the only pool was a private country club that excluded black people.
Or being a migrant worker like my stepfather’s mom; that is how she feed her family during the depression; he told me that he could remember playing with the Mexican kids while she worked in the fields.
How many modern day blacks or leftists have done that? I’m sick of this nonsense about “white privilege”. Where was her “white privilege” O ye leftist hypocrites?
At what point will the left overplay their hand?
This is getting exhausting. Race, race, race...
They’re consumed by race — and in and of itself, it’s incredibly racist. I see far more racism in the idea that “You’re black, you need whitey’s special help to make it in the world” than anything I have ever experienced on the right.
Why would your husband marry such an awful person?

When you have been told that your whole life, it is not something you can change easily.
My previous post mentioned a black person that married into my family. He truly believed that all cops would kill him for any reason.
It took a long time for him to realize the cops in my home town will harass you for out of state plates, but could care less about the color of your skin. Expired tags? Yeah they will key up on that but if you behave rationally they are not going to shoot you.
But that guy had been told by his parents and grandparents that all cops were going to kill him. So stopping that belief is very difficult.
99% of my racism is the result of being attacked as a racist. I will not socialize with blacks because I simple don’t want to spend my time defending myself.

We’re also supposed to have racism baked into our DNA according to the former dear leader who was described as someone who focused on bringing people together.
I have at least three ancestors who put their lives on the line and fought for the Union in the Civil War. More than 300,000 white people fought for the same cause and died. What racism was in their DNA? What was evidence of their “internalized racism?”
Don’t these white people and White clergy and many others who fought for Abolition or helped escaped slaves in the Underground Railroad get any credit at all?
When you have been taught since you were a toddler that cops are evil, every problem you have is because of race, and that to survive you must steal, would such advice seem true to you?
I have a strong dislike of people from one town north of where I grew up, because of what my grandpa said all of my childhood. Stupid and odd, but that was imprinted on me.
Now if your entire family and social group is doing that, you will believe them more than some random person who doesn’t understand you. Even if it is your spouse.
