They look terrific!
I love vintage styles.
I belong to a woodworking group on MeWe where people post pictures of projects they've built, some custom orders by customers.
One retro item that seems to be in demand: "mid-century" tables or shelves with slanted sides to hold LP record albums. When I see these, I recall how common they were back in the day when everyone still played records.
There is much to be said about the “Retro Culture”!
I, myself are deeply into “Old Arn”, the acquisition, restoration and reuse of vintage woodworking and metal working machinery. Back when we knew how to build quality and for maintainability.

Are you referring to Victorian Farm?
Most modern day feminists are anything but "feminine.".
They really did make things well in those days. My collection started off with inheriting a few enameled pieces of Grandma’s that nobody else in the family wanted (!), and then we would find things at flea markets and vintage shops that matched patterns the family had. We’ve been steadily adding older small appliances and just things that look interesting even. Our most recent find is actually an antique desk from 1887, with original locks and the key. So many nooks and crannies. We love it! So sturdy! We wonder if it was a hotel reception desk or maybe used in a train station, because it’s decorative on the back side. We take that to mean it was not next to a wall, but meant to be seen.
Who are those 2 guys?
I love that picture...:)
I miss being able to put on a suit and go to a nice restaurant with my wife who wears a nice dress.
No matter how fancy the restaurant is, you might even see a guy in there wearing plaid pajama bottoms.
I have to get squared away before I go out in public. I don’t believe in looking slovenly.
You are probably very right. The ancestors knew how to make things. I love my antiques but my children have little to no interest.
I love it.
I was born in the wrong decade.
They look very tidy. I think Queen Elizabeth II wore that yellow frock.
I give the man in that picture some big credit. He was looking at her face.
I have a picture of a Montana rodeo circa 1920s (my great grandparents )..men dressed in suits, women in long skirts and white blouses
My mom was a seamstress and designed her own clothing for a number of years. She was a knock out!
*** I say this a lot here but let me tell you
Freepers are obesity sensitive***
You say it so much, it posts twice on the thread, and three times once it’s quoted! ;-)
I get it. My mom and all her sisters wouldn’t go out the door looking like slobs. They wore shoes and handbags to match; gloves; hats; elegant scarves... I still have some of those.
The pics of them are great. If you bought something off the rack and it didn’t ‘fit’, you took it to a seamstress to make the adjustments.
They were always tidy
