That’s one reason I’m glad I have an old farmhouse. The old-timers knew where to build a house. I just read that Dayton might get over 7 inches. It sits right on the river and if they get that much the whole town will be under water. LOL

My house has done well - had a crazy wind event - actually 2 since I moved here in 2008 - one being the famous April 11 tornado outbreak, but a more recent one took down many trees in the woods behind my yard, and took down 2 large pine trees in my back yard as well. Both of those events, I heard some really scary noises and I fled to the basement.

Lost a little siding on one, and a couple of shingles (I’ve since re-done the roof), and a small maple tree I had in the front actually snapped at the base and was laying down in the front yard. Oh, and some shutters blew off. Loose stuff, structurally, the house is pretty sound.
