I checked my work email and the company meteorologist has indicated that Thursday into Thursday night, there is a good chance of heavy thunderstorms for northern MS, AL, and central TN including Memphis, Nashville, and Chattanooga. the probability decreases into the mountainous area in NE TN.

Heavy rain is predicted Thursday well into the evening with flash flooding, and some nighttime thunderstorms.

Risks overall are damaging winds, flash flooding, and possibly strong tornadoes.

That’s probably why they’re sending the test. I turned all that test stuff off on my phone.

Thanks! I’m between Chattanooga and Knoxville and the worst thing I saw was 14mph winds and heavy rain. I hope it hits the mountains and shoots off in another direction. My alerts rarely come on the phone. They usually come on the weather radio closer to time. You know how the weather is here. They usually wait until the last minute because it’s so hard to predict.
