I retired at 58 because I was in supervision working swing shift. He couldn’t remember where I was in the middle of the night and I was getting more and more calls asking “where are you”? I was financially able to retire so I did. My daughter has a lot of influence over him and it’s not as bad if I’m around but he gives in easier than I do. My granddaughter was forced to be vaccinated. She a physical therapy assistant and works hands-on with people. She would have anyway because at 25 she’s all about the science and “believing the scientists”. My daughter wasn’t going to take it until Ashley talked her into it and told her it was fine.
They are from generations that trust government where by the time most of us have lived this long we don’t trust government. If I try to explain the science as I know it I get those sideways looks so I don’t. I tell them that it’s too new and I’m not doing it. I leave it at that.
I am retired also have my 91 yr old mom in my home and neither one of us will be taking this vaccine NO WAY!!
My DH asked his doctor about his recommendation on the vaccine, and the doctor replied that it was too new and he would not recommend it for a year or so. (Doctor has probably been sent to re-education camp by now.)
I have a good friend and former co-worker (who moved away); she is in her early 80s now, and still works. She keeps saying this year will be her last, but then can’t seem to give it up. She could afford to retire, but she just enjoys the music work so much - same as me. Obviously she’s as healthy as a horse. Anyway, she has only ever had one vaccine in her entire life - she told me which it was, but I can’t remember if she said smallpox or polio. She says her mother was an anti-vaxxer before it was a thing - hahaha!
