He can also tell his mom that the doctor will prescribe HCQ, zinc and a Zpak and she will likely be fine.

Indeed. She's in great health as well, walking 3-5 miles a day.

We’ve really entered an age where everyone wants to do the thinking for everyone else. It’s completely in-American. Let me be me.

Un-American. That's a perfect description. Busy bodies. Karen's, etc. I'm a data scientist who will have tracked the CDC every day for a year tomorrow, so I'm quite familiar with the data. I'll stop tracking soon as the data is worthless and not something I'd put my name to.

“Most people i know have had a rough day the day after the second shot, and thats it. I got the J&J vaccine and no side effects whatsoever. Not even a sore arm.”

Congrats on the J&J vaccine and zero side effects. My wife and I had the Moderna and only had sore arms after each dose. Actually both of us had less sore arms after dose 2 than we had after dose 1.

“Perhaps I should have stipulated: the long-term side-effects.”

Vaccines are routinely monitored for long term effects as well, including through the same VAERS.

The design of the trials for these COVID vaccines, was deliberately engineered to make them larger, rather than longer. Statistically, there is some such tradeoff that can be made, and still effectively detect longer term effects. The earliest recipients in the trials are now about a year in.

With over 113 million shots administered in the USA, and the majority of the population of Israel (under very controlled data collection conditions), we now have truly gargantuan sample sizes, to scan for adverse effects.

In addition to VAERS, the Emergency Use Authorizations for the COVID vaccines included multiple (three each) 30 month focused monitoring programs, specifically to look for longer term effects. These will be run by the Military Health Care System, the Veterans Affairs Health Care System (both of which have had these missions before, as part of their Public Health and Emergency missions), as well as a study by a group of large private Health Maintenance Organizations (notably Kaiser Permanente).

As with other vaccines which are approved or given special use authorizations, these will be monitored in perpetuity for long term effects (unless the governing laws are changed in the future).

“The VA in my area (Reno) is starting to give the J&J Vaccine. I get mine tomorrow.”

Please let us know your experience - getting the shot, and any effects you feel.

We haven’t heard much about J&J direct from other Freepers. You are out front on this one.

I’d appreciate your feedback.

First Freeper report on J&J that I’ve heard. Good news.

So are you saying the 77,400 unfortunate Americans who died in January 2021 from covid-19 did not get adequate amounts of HCQ, zinc and a Zpak?

I was just in the ER for a Muay Thai sparring eye injury and was shocked by my discharge papers: one sheet was about the specific diagnosis, and ten were all Big Pharma Covid propaganda.

They said everyone should get the vaccine and the CDC didn’t know if prior Covid infection would create natural immunity, you know, like the ordinary flu does. They said vaccine recipients would experience flu-like symptoms, which if we look at actual infection, is what we are trying to avoid. If you are infected but have no symptoms, who cares if you are infected?

They said the flu-like symptoms were a positive sign that the body was actively protecting us...so we can surmise that actual flu symptoms is an indication that the body is protecting us.

This is madness.

Why stop at 77,400? Since HCQ wasn't considered a viable option through-out this entire so-called pandemic for political reasons, your profoundly ignorant question falls flat.

If actually getting the disease doesn’t trigger immunity what makes anyone think a cheap imitation in the form of a “vaccine” can? That’s like saying infant formula is superior to breast milk.

HCQ, zinc and ZPak have reasonably good success with early treatment. Not so much with serious advanced cases (by which time, it is too late for vaccine). There are other good treatments for serious cases, but we still have 500-1,000 per day dying from this, despite treatment.

These vaccines on the other hand, while about 95% effective at avoiding symptomatic disease, are nearly 100% effective at avoiding death from the disease.

Well, how would that benefit Big Pharma? It really bothers me how many conservatives just blindly follow Anthony Fauci, regardless of his Big Pharma conflicts of interest, and can’t find the time to question any of this. I had to break my old retired Army Col pops out of his care center because they gave him one shot, which sent him to the ER immediately after and were planning on giving him the second dose at the request of his brother.

Not gonna happen.

Good points. One valid point is that HCQ was denied for political reasons. Who knows how many lives could have been saved.

Still, there have been plenty of problems with the vaccines and we know very little about their efficacy. Will we need another booster in 3, 6, 12 months? It may never end. Maybe, if we’re good, we can spend time with other vaccinated family members on July 4th? Nah, we’re going to live as we normally would. We changed nothing through-out the last year other than wear a mask when we had to.

There’s only so much to talk about as we’ve all heard the same thing over and over. From many I’ve discussed the issue, pressuring anybody to get the vaccine will have the opposite effect.

“Trying... to get a jab”

It is a good time to be looking, because supply is up, and eligibility is expanding.

There are several ways to work getting an appointment. Register with your State and County Departments of Health for COVID vaccinations. Also with the VA, if a veteran (they have good supply, because they have a formal mission to collect data on the vaccine).

Some have registered as smokers, to qualify with a co-morbidity. Just bum a drag off someone else’s cigarette ahead of time, so you are not lying.

You can try this: vaccinefinder.org They have lots of sites around your home, and you can search in minority neighborhoods as well (another tip below).

Also big pharmacy or supermarket chains in your area (that have offered flu shots before), likely have web pages to schedule shots.

Each place tends to have their own schedule, for when batches of new appointments are made available. They sell out quickly. For example, one Freeper reported success by checking the Rite Aid site between 11:45 and noon each day, when appointments were opened, and all booked up. Ask the folks who work there, or who have been successful in getting shots, when the best time window is to get an appointment.

Another recommendation has been to check for appointments in majority minority neighborhoods. Several have said that made a big difference for them.

Since you are constantly promoting vaccine propaganda, I respectfully request you inform all here of possible conflicts of interest you have. In other words, which pharmaceutical company(ies) do you have a vested interest in?

In addition to HCQ, I would highlight Ivermectin (a common and inexpensive prescription drug) that is even more promising. It seems to have made a big difference in Peru, and other places. It seems to have strong effect at all stages of the disease, including as a preventative.

The gold standard for treating serious cases is probably the Regeneron antibody cocktail, that President Trump got. Although it is expensive, the FedGov has funded it, for cases that meet serious criteria.

Efficacy of the vaccines is now well known. The standard three phase trials were conducted, with extra-large sample sizes, and thorough third party review. Beyond that, extensive real world use in multiple countries have confirmed the results of the trials. Most notably, Israel’s largest HMO (Clait) published rigorous results in the peer-reviewed New England Journal of Medicine on Pfizer’s vaccine. With over half a million participants receiving the vaccine, painstaking paired against similar controls, they qualified the whole effectiveness curve over time (e.g. how effective 8 days after the first shot, etc.).

The data is in - safe and effective.

I have no personal financial interest in any of these vaccines, or of the pharmaceutical companies involved (unless a mutual fund or etf owns them, thatI am not aware of).

I like following big projects, and used to post border wall updates until the Xi/Harris/BidenAdmin killed it.

I am eager for the lockdowns to end, and got drawn into this, trying to predict for my friend when it would be wise to sign a lease to re-start a business.

I think it is well established that prior infection by COVID (even if asymptomatic) provides strong immune response to future infection.

One of the major vaccine candidates (I think Merck), scrapped their vaccine development, because they said that natural infection would provide stronger protection.
