I have a few friends (only a couple lol) who are nurses. One, ha, her name is Karen lol! She’s a PA as well. Her husband, has a mild form of bladder cancer and is terrified of getting china virus.
Even if I handed her that, she’d hand me something else. She said they aren’t hanging with anyone who hasn’t gotten jabbed. So we are moving out of state, long time friends won’t say goodbye. Karen, husband, and kids and grandkids, all live within a few blocks of each other. They don’t let the grandkids play anymore. It’s terribly sad and weird. (and why we don’t care, I’m done with these people)
All I keep thinking is.. “So that’s how the Anti Christ fools everyone.” Meaning, we have just gotten so dumb and blind to this. Fear porn, panic porn, whatever you want to call it.
I personally think the Spanish Flu was way worse and more deadly.. people died, but life moved on. This China Virus is something of another beast, meaning it’s survivable but you’d think it wasn’t. Yes, people are dying, like they do every day (sorry to sound callused), but it’s not like people are DYING this horrible, bleeding from every orifice death with huge bulbous tumors and gangrenous fingers and toes. (I combined the plague with ebola)
The Spanish Flu was much worse. Millions died worldwide. They tried wearing the masks too. Did it work? Don’t know. I would rather go up against COVID any day than go through the horrors my grandparents talked about during the Spanish Flu, Smallpox, and Polio. They didn’t have the advanced medical capabilities we have.
Naturally with my asthma I don’t want COVID, flu, or even bronchitis. Still, I would walk through a stadium full of COVID positive people with no protection before I’d want to go back in time and face what our grandparents had to face. We have become a country of wimps and yes, I wear a mask but I wouldn’t panic if I didn’t have one.

My doctor is in his mid-30’s and he now wears full hazmat gear when he sees patients. He has a high protection face mask with the one-way breathing valve and wears a completely-around-the-head shield over that. His gloves cover his plastic onesie that rustles when he walks and he has heavy plastic booties that are taped over his plastic pantlegs. I understand that they see people all day who are sick with goodness knows what and he wants to protect his ability to make a living, but that was a surprise.
When he came into the examination room, my eyes got quite wide. He was very happy to be wearing all that gear because I was sitting there without a mask and he proceeded to lecture me about “The CDC says ... hrtmmphd ... trmstmmmp ... safety ... muffled ... muffled ... muffled ... mask”.
I stared at him like I was listening intently and started nodding, but I had tuned him out as soon as I heard “CDC”. It took all my focus to apply just the right amount of tooth pressure on my tongue to prevent me from laughing at the rustling sound he made as he moved around the room. I thought about asking if I could take a photo, but we have a shortage of doctors in my town. I just wanted my first in a series of spring allergy shots and didn’t want to be fired as a patient at this particular time.
