In my part of the world, “Yankee” is either a baseball player or someone from New England who sounds like they have a speech impediment. Blame the immigrants from East Anglia for that.

Anyway no northerner would be caught dead eating applesauce pie. Applesauce belongs right alongside the pork chops.
