What is best non-Amazon place to buy books?
Posted on 03/09/2021 5:52:38 PM PST by SamAdams76
Ditching Amazon Prime and looking for alternative websites to purchase things. For example, I now get most of my clothing directly from LL Bean.
What is a good place to buy books online? I still buy a lot of books. An obvious choice is Barnes & Noble but looking to see if there are any other book-buying websites I should be aware of.

Tough answer. I hate Amazon for who I’m paying money to, but I’ve got over 812 books on my kindle? Who do I change to?

Go to Dealoz.com for Comparison shopping. Enter the title of the book you're interested it and it will show you the eCommerce sites that carry the book and the price for sale.

If you have any used bookstores in your area, they can use the patronage. You can always call to see if they have something yure looking for, or at least have a section of the topic youre interested in.

I use Amazon the way I use google/duck, only to figure out what product I want, and then search for some smaller, direct seller.

According to 2ndvote.com, Amazon is 1.5 or very liberal, while Barnes and Nobel is 3.13, moderate/neutral. They don’t list any other bookstores.
If you wanted a conservative alternative to Amazon for most products, they recommend Overstock.com

Being in Portland, they are liberal. However, last I heard they are still selling Andy Ngo’s book Unmasked online.
I have been in their store years ago and loved it. I don’t go to Portland unless I really have to anymore.
To: SamAdams76; All
ABEbooks was bought up by Amazon several years ago.
