Yes, this is a vanity, because in these times we all need a break, and thats why I come here sometimes. So...who do you choose?
Seen them live twice, incredible! Saw the Australian version too, very good but got a little too political for me. Brit Floyd has their own roadies which I met at the concession stand before the show. They told me what a great show we were in for and they were right.
I discovered them while channel surfing late one night. PBS was replaying one of their shows and my jaw dropped. I immediately went to my phone hoping they were still touring and scored a couple tickets for a show just a couple months later. I guess PBS can be useful sometimes.
Steve Marriott was the best rock singer ever, hands down, not even close.
Other than that...
Them. The Who. The Stones. Queen.
The Ramones, The Sex Pistols, The Clash.
Yes. Dylan.
Oh yeah, Zappa. Saw him and his band a couple of times in the late 70s early 80s, would definitely do a repeat.
Blondie, just for fun. :)
Cains is still here but Hendix was at the old Assembly Center downtown. First Rock Concert I ever attended and the last one I ever attended straight.
Not far from the BOK.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
been to the old Assembly center to watch ice hockey & NR’s Hurricane basketball teams.
I think I went to Cain’s a couple times (back during the blurr)
figured Cain’s might have been replaced by a new off ramp on 244 by now.
Saw them in 1981. Fully agree!
Radiohead In Rainbows tour.
I know a few people who weren’t even that much into Radiohead say that was the best concert they’d ever seen.
uh....wrong side of the tracks
Gypsy with Crow opening.
Humble Pie, All the Young Dudes?
I saw The Association, and The Ramsey Lewis Trio once many years ago, and The Monkees years later after they’d already been, and gone. I never got into the Beatles until the 70’s, when I was in my early 20’s. I like Steppenwolf, but wouldn’t want to go back in time just to see them, or any other band. Born in ‘47, I wasn’t into going to concerts, even as a teen. My youngest son, born in ‘71 was a different story. He was into KISS, Guns N’ Roses, and Van Halen, and went to their concerts whenever they were playing in the Rochester/Buffalo NY area. He even went to Woodstock 94. I live in Rome, New York, and when they held Woodstock II here in ‘99, I got in my car and headed out of State.
Marriot was no slouch with a guitar either. "I Walk On Gilded Splinters" from the Filmore album is some of the greatest dueling guitars ever recorded, IMO.
Saw REO in the early 70’s.
Great concert if you like 4 or 5 Guitar’s wailing away....Which I do.
Yep, I was too late to the Zappa Party to enjoy him when he was still alive.
The live performance of “Inca Roads” is just incredible.
And the stuff with The Small Faces was great as well.
did’t know until a few years ago that the GAP band namesake was Greenwood/Archer & Pine. lol
I saw Bob Seger a few years ago. What an awesome show. I would have loved to see him in his prime.
LOL!! I'm with you on those bands. Add Glenn Miller, Bob Crosby and the Bob-Cats, the Count Basie Orchestra, The Andrews Sisters, along with the Spike Jones Band. My mother was a Glenn Miller fan. I grew up listening to their music. We watched the Spike Jones show, and Kate Smith shows on TV. And Ernie Kovacs too. Great entertainment back then.
Simply earth shattering.
These musicians are really pretty wacko.
Never saw them, but our HS had Louie Belson, Clark Terry, Buddy Rich, Doc Severson, Urbie Green and a few others play with our Jazz Band. Not all at the same time :)
I wish I would have seen The Drama tour (with Trevor Horn) just to hear “Tempus Fugit” live.
