A shocking discovery out of a Baltimore City high school, where Project Baltimore has found hundreds of students are failing. It’s a school where a student who passed three classes in four years, ranks near the top half of his class with a 0.13 grade point average.
Tiffany France thought her son would receive his diploma this coming June. But after four years of high school, France just learned, her 17-year-old must start over. He’s been moved back to ninth grade.
“He’s stressed and I am too. I told him I’m probably going to start crying. I don’t know what to do for him,” France told Project Baltimore. “Why would he do three more years in school? He didn’t fail, the school failed him. The school failed at their job. They failed. They failed, that’s the problem here. They failed. They failed. He didn’t deserve that.”
France’s son attends Augusta Fells Savage Institute of Visual Arts in west Baltimore. His transcripts show he’s passed just three classes in four years, earning 2.5 credits, placing him in ninth grade. But France says she didn’t know that until February. She has three children and works three jobs. She thought her oldest son was doing well because even though he failed most of his classes, he was being promoted. His transcripts show he failed Spanish I and Algebra I but was promoted to Spanish II and Algebra II. He also failed English II but was passed on to English III.
This is a public school, which means the teachers there belong to the same unions currently issuing endless demands about money and reopening schools.

Idiocracy.
Under 500 students in whole school. 25 teachers. <5% proficient in math, <5% proficient in English.
The mom didn’t know he was failing all through high school? Then she’s the biggest failure of all.
Mr. Kroger, two C’s, two D’s and an F - that’s a 1.2 grade average. Congratulations, Kroger, you’re at the top of the Delta pledge class.Fat, drunk and stupid is no way to go through life, son. Mr. Hoover, president of Delta House - 1.6. Four C’s and an F. A fine example you set. Daniel Simpson Day has no grade point average. All courses incomplete. Mr. Blutarsky. Zero POINT zero.
The mother is failing.
She couldn’t take a few minutes every 6 weeks to ask to see a report card?
She couldn’t manage to figure out by his manner of speaking he wasn’t getting proper education?
She couldn’t manage to figure out by his reading or lack of reading materials?
Yes, mother is definitely failing.
The school failed.
The kid failed too.
The kids parents failed as well.
17 y/o and back in the 9th Grade with the 14 y/o’s?
Every 17 y/o worst nightmare.
“My older brother knows you, and he just graduated last year. How many classes did you flunk?”
The student must have known he wasn’t learning.
If he spent the last three years tricking his Mom that all was well instead of studying, he then shares in the blame.
And apparently another case of NO FATHER in the “family.”
A few years ago, there was news story from Atlanta (?) that teachers in some schools can systematically “fix” this kind of problem
The answers are obvious:
1. More money for education.
2. Base the curriculum on “Critical Race Theory.”
3. More transgender indoctrination.
Absent over 250 days.
“Why would he do three more years in school? He didn’t fail, the school failed him. The school failed at their job. They failed. They failed, that’s the problem here. They failed. They failed. He didn’t deserve that.”
1. He has to do 3 more years because he FAILED and is not prepared to get a job if he can’t read, write, or do basic math.
2. Perhaps Momma should have been involved and concerned about his education. Last time I checked, the school issue report cards. Didn’t she ever read any of his, because if she had she would have known he only passed 3 classes in 4 years.
Idiocracy indeed.
Another affirmative action success story.
I will have to agree. My parents, like Jedi knights, KNOW when my report card was issued and they want to know what my grades are. Any good parent would ask, regardless if they are busy. I kissed my social life goodbye on some report cards haha
Doesn’t take long to look at a report card.
“Under 500 students in whole school. 25 teachers. <5% proficient in math, <5% proficient in English.”
What about ebonics?
And everybody knows that math is racist.
There will likely be lots of other 17 y/o’s there with him.
