so they don’t know the weather next week but they think they can predict 100 years from now?

This is beyond ridiculous.

Multiply the surface area of the oceans by 3 feet and that would give you the volume needed to raise world-wide levels by that much. There is not enough volume of water on the planet to do that IF you melted both icecaps 100%

***beachfront property will be yours.***

Remember this from fifty two years ago?

“Where can you go,
When there’s no San Francisco?
Better get ready to tie up the boat,
In Idaho.”

Maybe someday I’ll have ocean front property, 1600 feet up.

How Fast Are Oceans Rising? The Answer May Be In Century-Old Shipping Logs

They will coordinate current GPS settings with sextant derived lat/long readings from 100 years ago ... then they will match the depths recorded at those recorded spots with the current sonar readings. See? Its so easy, eh? The data will show that the coasts are scheduled to be drowned in a few years.

The reason it took so long is that they had to roust some old codgers out of their assisted living homes to read the ancient cursive and translate it into printed form on typewriters using the one finger style and then on to a paper spread sheet. Very labor intensive and some of the old codgers made the ultimate sacrifice to prove the sea levels are rising.

No one ever thought of looking at century old photos?

Actually, we have 61 year old film of Ft. Lauderdale Beach of an AERIAL SHOT from the opening credits of "From Where The Boys Are" which was released in 1960. As you can see, the ocean back then was just as far from State Road A1A as it is today.

The earth's crust is always shifting and going up and down. And of course there are places which are sinking like in Mexico City which has sunk over 30 feet in the last 60 years from a declining aquifer. So even old photos do not always give an accurate impression. And as noted in the article there are local variations even within the same region.

But there are enough areas throughout the world that it is generally accepted that the seas have been rising at a constant rate for the past several hundred years. There is no widely accepted indications that there has been any increase in the rate over the past 100 years despite many breathless claims by political activists.

How does one explain an area like St. Augustine Florida the oldest coastal fortification by Europeans in the continental United States. It was built next to the Atlantic Ocean by the Spanish and completed around 1695. It doesn't look like it will be underwater any time soon.

Yep!

Even if this is true, none of our sons/daughters, nieces or nephews will be around when this Gorebull/Obama flooding happens.

It is even doubtful if any grand kids, grand nephews, and grand nieces in their early 20’s will be around.

So this is not really a problem, issue for my generation and our current “new comers”.

You would need day and time to adjust for the tides, which I expect the logs to have.

Who wrote those ship’s logs?

The Captain? Did he have a (slave) cabin boy?

Was the ship owned by rich white traders?

Ban all ship’s logs.

Current reports of the DEATH of The Great Barrier Reef have been greatly exaggerated.

“The Great Barrier Reef died five times during the last ice age, regenerating each time in a new position.

A new study has found that coral reefs were able to move across the continental shelf in response to changes in sea level, which dropped by a whopping 118 metres at the peak of glaciation around 20,000 years ago.

“There were major lateral migrations following each death, initially as sea level fell during the last ice age,” says Jody Webster, Associate Professor at the University of Sydney and lead author of the study. “When the world went into deglaciation and sea level started to rise, the reef was able to migrate and essentially hop back across the shelf edge.””

The Great Barrier Reef HOAX!

Ocean levels RISING! No big deal. They have been rising and falling since God created them. Without man’s help or input.

> Current actual measurements suggest about 1-2 mm per year. <

I’ve seen that reported. But I don’t think it has any credibility at all. No measuring device that I know of could pick up such a small value with any precision. It would be like trying to measure the height of Mt. Everest to the nearest mm.

Please see my post #40. (And if I’m missing something here, I hope someone corrects me.)

Get back to us when the Obama’s sell their home on Martha’s Vineyard. Until then this is all conjecture.

As long as the photographers wrote down the day and date and the precise time of day the pic was taken that might be a great idea. Get back to me on that.

I never understood how the finding of fish fossils in the middle of places like Montana or in the Rockies is not in the discussion about man made glow bull warming causing the seas to rise

That makes sense. The 1600s were a period sometimes called the Little Ice Age.

Sea level rise is accelerating around the globe, likely to displace millions of People who live in coastal communities. Forecasts show between 3 and 6 feet of rise by the end of the century, or potentially more, depending on how much heat-trapping pollution humans emit.

That is just an out and out lie.
