You obviously do not understand how Texas County law structures work. Judges in Texas are elected and are the highest constitutional authority in the county after the elected constitutional sheriffs. They are not by any means trial judges they are the chief executive administrator of the County similar to how POTUS is the chief executive to the nation. Trial judges are elected separately. Clay is not a trial judge he is the legal CIC of Dallas County and the last word other than the Texas Supreme Court in laws and policy in his County.
