The solution to this situation is obvious, these students must be placed with the “Gifted and Talented” who attend other schools. It will raise the underperforming students self-esteem which will result in improved academic performance. At the end they will all become Doctors as opposed to aspiring rappers.

Not just his mother. What about the others'? The kid was in the top half of his class???

As they probably say it in Baltimore, that's unpossible.

My oldest son graduated with honors, a STEM distinction, went to State for Academic Decathlon, and went to Regionals for UIL in History and again for Constitutional Law. Finishing his BA then on to law school.

My middle child graduated with honors and distinctions, and won a teacher’s choice award for Excellence. Scored at Mastery level on all STARR exams. Going to college in the fall.

My youngest sends me snapshots of the grade portal on a regular basis; he was devastated when his perfect A average was interrupted by a bad test grade that brought his biology grade down to a B. He immediately sought extra help.

I homeschooled my children on and off during the years. The greatest gift I gave to them was to develop their love of independent learning. Must be that white privilege I hear so much about.

I can’t imagine an environment where a child can miss almost an entire year of days and still pass. What meth head administrator implemented that outrageous policy? Oh, that’s right; let’s teach young people that actions don’t have consequences.

Pretty typical actually.

My wife is a teacher. She rarely sees parents of these kids. Sometimes the mom will threaten her “You BETTER NOT FLUK MY BABY! I WILL SUE!”

See does and sometimes they do.

It is a mess.

First of all, you would have to explain to “mother” what a gpa is. Then define an indoctrinator.
