Liberty Net is up and running on 3.995 Mhz.
You can use WebSDR if you would like to listen live
Ham Radio the original Social Media network, still uncensored.
Damn. My rig is ready sans a good antenna right now but can pull from 80 Meters to 10 meters.
Liberty Net? I recall listing to that frequency some years ago, and this character named Sid was always on frequency. He lived in the Mountains of New Mexico. It was a real hoot listening to that guy.
1. Running on 3.995 puts you over 4.0khz and that's a violation according to FCC rules. You should transmit no higher than 3.985 to ensure you're within the band plan.
2. Propagation SUCKS here. My 75m Trap Attic Antenna may as well be a dummy load at this point.
Anyone acting in a moderator or main contributor role that we would recognize?
“You should transmit no higher than 3.985 to ensure you’re within the band plan.”
If you are transmitting in Lower Sideband there is no issue.
Forget it Jake, it’s China town, I mean 75 meters.
I sure can’t raise it directly, but am listening to Radio China pretty clearly on 5910 (am on West Coast U.S.).
I just tuned into that, wow that is a big signal! 20 over!
Not sure if the net controller is on Free Republic. Some content sounds like the same content on Free Republic.
You do have a point there. I miss the old days when I had my wire up 65' in the air, the Alpha 9500 loafing at 2500 watts (yeah, I know that was above the limit) My Kenwood 940SAT and my Heil GM-5 mic running through my soundboard so I sounded really REALLY good and being able to talk anywhere I wanted to without worrying about getting stepped on. The good ol' days! :-)
Them ol' boys on 75m knew how to rub the FCC's nose in it didn't they?
I used to be hell on 20m. I could shut VE7KFM down with one key. Pointed the Mosley on his GPS Coordinates, tuned for 14.313 and shut him right up every time. I so miss being on the air.
I used to be a big shortwave listener until life gave me other things to do. I had no idea what was available on the web. Thanks for sharing this.
Yeah, never heard it this good. Just a Degen 1103 and active loop antenna IN THE BASEMENT!!!
HOA?
I’m just using a coil loaded inverted V up about 38’ and China is real loud. Condition’s must be good.
Btw, hard to believe the loop is doing that and it’s below grade. Amazing.
I'm in a 2500SF end unit townhome now where all the grass, landscaping, external maintenance and snow removal is done for me because I can't do that anymore. I have plenty of trees I can launch wires into and will be doing that this spring. I thought I could design an efficient enough attic antenna to get on the air with but it's not working out as well as I'd hoped. I'm good 6-20m with an MFJ 1836H up in the attic and that works well but I really enjoy 40m and 75m the most so I have to launch some wires into the trees for that.
Over the winter I got my coax for the 1836H from the attic to the basement and got the 220/50a service for the Amlifier done and tested, so that's good. I just miss all my friends on 40m (OMISS Net, among others) and some of the locals on 75m. I'll get there. :-)
Yep, Lord knows what I’d receive if I took it upstairs. Mars rover?
Good for you. Btw, I can talk/listen planet wide and it's much easier with my vertical antennas. But I mostly listen nowadays, cruising the bands in the evening.
