Garden-related projects for the weekend:
Organize/inventory seeds: group by indoor seed starting times and outside sewing times.
Consult seed starting schedule and start clearing the decks to get ready. I plan on starting a LOT this season for myself, and have had other relatives and friends request seedlings of, ‘whatever you are growing’ this season.
Clean up the greenhouse and get things squared away to start really early lettuces and spinach and kale.
Work on my garden bed plans some more - I’ve kind of lost interest, but it’s something that I really need to do. I want to make the absolute MOST of my garden beds this season - hard times ahead. And if not? I’ll still be ahead of the curve. :)
My ‘Lettuce Factory’ needs another trimming after only two more weeks of growing. It’s incredible, and I will never go through the winter months without fresh greens, again! :)
Hi all, the snow has ben melting during the day but we got a fresh dusting overnight. The birds are singing. I will be starting my lavender seeds soon. My rooted celery is growing nicely and I started a bunch of green onion bottoms, Just used a half pint canning jar and the skinny rubber bands that come on the onions. Cut off all the greens and used 4 toothpicks like the celery. Hubby is so nice, he heard me say I was desperate to be around something growing and her was at Costco and picked up one of those forced tulip vases no dirt just water. We have grown them before, easy and beautiful.
