Imagine a Freeper has a 30 year old Child with Rett syndrome or Cerebral Palsy; that child requires 24 hour a day care including feeding and hydration, and will require constant supervision as long as they live. That person’s life has been reduced to working and caring for your child and they have to rely on others for any respite care.
The parent already feels grief and profound loss at their child’s “retardation”. His or Her child will never be normal, will never experience things like riding a bike, graduating college, getting married, playing ball, running across a field, may not even be able to say your name, say mama, papa.

So...that Freeper has to listen to the central tragedy their and their child’s life used as a cheap and thoughtless insult learned in 4th grade from a bully on a playground now thoughtlessly repeated by adults on places like FreeRepublic.
So more hurt and concerned for their child’s future than offended. They want to interact with adults but are constantly reminded of their situation instead.
