Tiger Woods involved in single-car accident in Los Angeles

Tiger Woods was hospitalized after being involved in a single-car accident in Los Angeles on Tuesday morning. The extent of any potential injuries, as well as the circumstances of the accident, remain unclear.

Woods, 45, was in California for a two-day content shoot with Golf Digest/GOLFTV after serving as host for the PGA Tour's Genesis Invitational over the weekend. Pictures surfaced on social media of Woods smiling with Dwayne Wade and David Spade at Rolling Hills Country Club on Monday, but with his movement still restricted, he did not hit balls or play any holes. The shoot involved Woods giving on-course lessons to a number of celebrities, but he mostly provided instruction and hit a few putts. He was in good spirits on Monday but did not arrive to the course for the second day of shooting.

On Sunday, Woods told CBS’ Jim Nantz that he was awaiting the results of an upcoming MRI before he could ramp up practicing and training for a return to competition.

Woods last competed alongside his son at the PNC Championship, which finished on Dec. 20 in Orlando. He then underwent a microdiscectomy procedure to remove a pressurized disc fragment that was pinching a nerve. It was his fifth back surgery overall and the first since his spinal fusion in April 2017.

I stopped playing golf years ago because it did havoc on my back. I'm generally a very healthy person but when I was playing golf, I would occasionally get back pains so bad that I could barely stand up from a sitting or lying position. The pain was excruciating.

I never got surgery but I gave up golf and instead went on daily walks. I try to get 3-5 miles a day of walking in. I haven't had back pain since and walking seems to really help with your back.

I wonder how many other pro golfers (besides Tiger) has chronic back pain.

hopefully he has no lasting injuries.

Some athletes have major injuries and come back. Some have what seem like minor one, and they're done. At least Tiger will never have to worry about where his next meal comes from. Although he might be reduced to doing car commercials if they need to do shoulder/rotator cuff reconstruction.

Did he start questioning the election or something?

Driven that street HUNDREDS of times.. Kind of steep.. And there's a signal at Blackhorse Road that can sneak up on you when it turns red.. Palos Verdes Peninsula High School (formerly Rolling Hills High School) is just up the hill from where his car rests..

I'm wondering if he struck an animal, sometimes horses get loose there.. But there should be evidence of that.

I was t-boned two weeks ago by a 24 yr old “dreamer” (from Bogota) who ran the stop sign. I was in a rav4. my wrist is broken and my legs still ache. Pretty lucky considering. She was driving a honda accord. She bounced out, no injuries, giggling.

Besides being a legendary golfer, Tiger is one of the few professional athletes who has publicly maintained his respect for and friendship with President Trump. He is also one of a very few people who really has “turned his life around” regarding personal behavior. I am sorry to see so many Freepers being snarky.

Fred Couples has been plagued by back problems for decades.

Jack Nicholas and Fred Couples come to mind, both have chronic back problems that hindered their later careers. Nicholas I know needed back surgery at one time!

This chick was driving a honda accord too, probably illegal, she also had no drivers license..no insurance, the reason why she broke her wrist was because when the air bag deployed it smacked her in the wrist and broke it she needed screws and everything..she still has pain in her wrist from time to time..I tell ya those SUV’s offer good buffer, a regular car forget it. Glad you are OK sucks that you still have pain, I assume that you were not able to sue the driver since probably she had nothing to sue for

Thats a real steep downhill on Hawthorne there, real easy to get going too fast, especially if you are in a hurry. He crashed from driving too fast and losing control, no excuses. But I don’t want to hear any crap about a “dangerous” road, it’s been there 60 frikkin years and thousands drive it daily, I have at least a thousand times

Doesn’t look curvy there. Missing the turn onto Hawthorne completely? At best, too fast rounding the corner?

This is why I don’t own an SUV. Rollovers are way too common. A “spinout” accident with a single car becomes a “rollover” accident if you’re driving an SUV.

As soon as I posted Fred Couples, I recalled Jack Nicholas also has serious, chronic back problems.

I get breaking news alerts from Google on my phone. I just got an alert for Tiger Woods. I didn’t get one for Rush Limbaugh dying.

Weird--initial news reports described frequent vehicle accidents along this stretch of road. Seems you know better, huh.
