“Mandamus” is where a court orders a lower court or a specific person/entity to do their public or legal duty. Yes, I had to look it up; paralegal classes were a long time ago!
Basically, an individual petitioned the Supreme Court saying ‘hey so-and-so isn’t doing their legal job-make them!’.
In both cases (Sidney Powell was listed as one of the attorneys), these were the questions the petitioners wanted answered:
A. Whether presidential electors have standing to challenge the outcome
of a presidential election for fraud and illegality that cause the defeat of their
candidate?
B. Whether federal courts have and should exercise jurisdiction under 42
U.S.C. § 1983 over claims by presidential electors that the presidential election was
stolen from them by fraud and illegality under color law in violation of their
constitutional rights under the Elections and Electors, Equal Protection and Due
Process Clauses of the U.S. Constitution?
C. Whether a claim by presidential electors to de-certify the results of a
presidential election and enjoin voting in the electoral college by the rival slate of
electors is barred by laches when it is brought within the state law statute of
limitations for post-certification election contests, and before the post recount recertification?
D. Whether the remedial powers of a federal court under 42 U.S.C. §§
1983 and 1988 include invalidation of an unconstitutionally conducted election, and
an injunction against presidential electors appointed in such an election from voting
in the electoral college?
Since mandamus was denied, the SC declined to make a ruling. I didn’t see anything on the list as to whether there was dissenting opinion like last week where Justice Thomas stated his opinion about what the SC was doing by not taking up the cases.

The DC ‘man about town’ has put up a new video (about 5 1/2 minutes long).
In it, he records the Presidential motorcade on the route to Andrews AFB. He doesn’t see into the vehicle but that’s the assumption.
He also showed where they’re taking down the razor wire at the top of the fence around the Capitol. He said the guys taking down the razor wire told him that they plan to open 3rd Street back up, but didn’t know if the razor wire will be put on the fencing around the capital on the other side of 3rd Street (if that makes sense).

Said he’s working on a video about black flags and buses at the Capitol; not sure what that’s about. That video should be up tonight some time.
