The Bible tells us God’s plan for this world. In my understand and beliefs, those plans are for a Rapture to take place at a time no one will know and there will be a Tribulation on this earth for 7 years. During those 7 years, there will not be Christians to hold back the evil and wickedness of Satan.
It’ll get bad, and it’ll get ugly. There is no exemption for America in the Bible.
After those 7 years of Tribulation, Jesus will return to earth for the second time and will reign for 1000 years.
The Bible does not say some type of light-filled utopia will exist on this earth without going through the Rapture and Tribulation. I do not believe God decided that He needed to change course on His plan set out in the beginning of time.
People are free to believe something different; that’s why God created free will. I prefer to believe God’s Word.
Back in the 70s when I studied eschatology, it was noted that America isn't mentioned or hinted about in the Bible. It was speculated that we would no longer be a dominant world power in the last days.
Sadly, I have been thinking this the last little while as well, Spirit.
I know it’s not terribly uplifting, but going through persecution, not being able to buy or sell without the “mark of the beast”, a one-world order and dictator....scripture tells us about these things.
I remember Lin Wood talking about this at one point as well. He mentioned that he felt God wanted to give America another chance, if you will, for people to turn to Him, etc. This is totally possible, and I sure hope it happens, but this was speculation on his part. The only thing we know for sure is what God tells us through His word. We just don’t know when.
Having said that, I’m recalling 7 years of peace at some point. I’ll have to do some reading tomorrow and get myself refreshed in the prophecy.
