Yes, I am nearing the end on all sorts of things. Most stuff is moved. and my back hurts so I am ready for my new, improved body! And hubby is a pain, so that might be ending too. Except for this big house we are sharing. But I”m liking it more and more. I almost forgot there was an upstairs bonus room. It has easy one floor living.

Thanks for asking. Arms are actually the only part of me NOT hurting. I’ve discovered a new knee pain. And the lower back pain. Please God, let this be the last move ever!!!

There are lots of noises, but all tolerable. Numerous dogs bark but only for a bit. The neighbors all have dogs and they look to be well-cared for and happy. Two have come up to visit. They were probably looking for Shelby, the prior dog resident here. She’s a great pyrennes and I was half hoping she would still be here. But the owners were responsible and found her a good home with 64 acres and goats to guard. She’ll be happier there so that’s good.

Texas electricity firm files for bankruptcy citing $1.8 billion in claims from grid operator

Texas’s largest and oldest electric power cooperative filed for bankruptcy protection in Houston.
Brazos Electric Power Cooperative cited a disputed $1.8 billion bill from the state’s grid operator.
Through its 16 utility company members, Brazos provides electricity to more than 660,000 customers across the state of Texas.

Stupid question time....why doesn’t ERCOT (or whoever) just reduce the amount being charged back down to the normal amount? Just because they can charge more doesn’t mean they should!

If I recall correctly, Gov. Abbott said the increased costs shouldn’t be passed to consumers. That’s only keeping the electric companies in the middle since they’re being forced to pay for the higher charge.

Since mandamus was denied, the SC declined to make a ruling. I didn’t see anything on the list as to whether there was dissenting opinion like last week where Justice Thomas stated his opinion about what the SC was doing by not taking up the cases.

ERCOT is just a regulatory group, they don’t own anything. This is all private businesses. By filing for bankruptcy they can work out some arrangement.

Update on the Frontier Airline story about removing a family with an unmasked baby; airline is saying ‘several adults’ refused to comply with the mask mandate. The story says the entire incident wasn’t captured on film; might turn into a ‘he said/she said’ as well as a PR nightmare for the airline.

The whole flight was canceled.

“Yesterday, while flight 2878 from Miami to New York-La Guardia was preparing to leave the gate, a large group of passengers repeatedly refused to comply with the U.S. government’s federal mask mandate,” the airline elaborated. “Multiple people, including several adults, were asked repeatedly to wear their masks and refused to do so. Based on the continued refusal to comply with the federal mask mandate, refusal to disembark the aircraft and aggression towards the flight crew, local law enforcement was engaged. The flight was ultimately canceled.”

Frontier also reiterated the current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) mandate that all passengers over 2 need to wear masks on commercial aircraft, other than those with a qualifying disability.
