On Monday, Twitter user @Toffifay76 stirred up some hot internet drama by posing a question to her followers: “Fleetwood Mac or Chicago?”
The straightforward choice between the two beloved rock groups went viral, and has since racked up more than 1,700 likes and 4,200 responses.
“Chicago!!!!!” voted one enthused devotee of the “If You Leave Me Now,” and “You’re the Inspiration,” artists. “I know ppl will unfollow but I have always hated Stevie Nicks. Her voice is like a fog horn… Don’t @ me!!” “Fleetwood Mac (BEFORE Buckingham & Nicks) was one of the three greatest English blues/rock guitar/guitarist song factories in history,” voted an opposing listener.

GT: If a music chart was put in front of you, could you read it?
SM: Yes, but... practice makes perfect and I’m far from perfect at the moment. It would have to be a very slow tempo!
In my experience, I hardly ever needed to refer to a chart, since I preferred writing or improvising as much as possible. Even at my best, I would scan through the chart and quickly work out the busiest lines before the leader would count off the tune.
Wow....a contest....that would ‘ve been relevant 40 YEARS AGO.
