List at link. Prices ranged from $30 - $90.
Only ones I recognized were Wild Turkey, Knob Creek and Old Grand Dad.
Prefer my whiskey without the “e” or the water
No ice for me please.
Buffalo Trace is excellent and reasonably priced when you can find it.
Drink on the rocks.
Is that a comment about the present state of our economy?
I keep my Weller in the freezer and drink it over ice. Love it that way.
Is this guy talking about wine or whiskey?
This stuff is so good it shouldn’t have ice.
There’s a real throughline of sunny berry brambles (blueberry, raspberry, and blackberry) next to orange oils and a touch of oakiness on the nose. That fruit and oak will carry through on the palate as hints of buttery toffee, rich vanilla, and peppery spice mingle on the tongue and set your lips abuzz. The end tends to be slow and velvety with the spice, fruit, oak, and vanilla all blending nicely until the last drop.Gag me. Does that really entice anybody to sample "Elijah Craig Barrel Proof"?This is really high-proof whiskey that’s not necessarily hot but will certainly feel very bold to the uninitiated. The taste of this one on the rocks will really zero in on the vanilla and berry with a pure silken texture. The oakiness will get a little mustier (think a root cellar must) and the sip tends to get a little more buttery while holding onto the sweeter edges.
Agree on Buffalo Trace. That distiller’s Eagle Rare brand is really good at a decent price. Also like Basil Hayden.
“They want you to sip it straight, unchilled.”
Also called “neat”.
” If it isn’t a brew, it’s JW Red on the rocks in a Tom Collins glass with water.
That is smooooth!”
Once you try Black, you never go back!
In “Bourbontucky” the head distiller for Jack Daniels finishes the documentary by saying in effect, “It doesn’t matter what bourbon you drink, or how you drink it. All that matters is that you are drinking it.” I am inclined to agree. My favorite bourbon? Open and in front of me.
Woodford Reserve is very good for the price point. Blanton’s used to be but it’s impossible to find at almost any price now.

Bourbon is distilled in Bourbon County Kentucky. If it’s distilled somewhere else, it may be whiskey, but it’s not bourbon.
Just over a cube. Enhances the flavors big time. Weller and Larceny are wheated and very similar.
FYI good tequila is best this way. Out of the freezer and neat. Makes it much smoother.
This, at a time when even the big liquor stores couldn't get more than two or three bottles per store per month.
I found out about BT watching Justified. A guy went into the bar owned by Boyd and asked for Buffalo Trace. I had to look it up!
