Probably because they’ve lost their patent protection because they’ve been around for decades and any dangers/side effects known, and if bad enough, those would have been pulled off the market.

Patent for a drug is around 20 years. That’s 20 years of people taking it and any side effects being reported. Easy to do an internet search and see what the issues are - make notes and discuss with the Dr. and it’s cheaper.
VIOX was the most recent Rx that I declined early on-had friend that tried to convince me to go back to the Dr. and tell him I’d changed my mind. No thanks.
