If Beto is out there doing something, then how can anyone defend Ted going to Cancun?
Look, I like Cruz. I'll continue to vote for him. But he screwed up.

Cruz is a US Senator! It is not his responsibility to do a damn thing? If anyone should be faulted it would be that senile old fool who stole the election! It IS his responsibility to dispatch FEMA! Biden’s Katrina!
The optics on this are terrible if Cruz wants to continue or elevate his political career. I like him (more than 90% of his colleagues) but this is a major mis-step. Being a good leader means being a servant leader.
Texas is going democrat and will never go back to a conservative state. So may as well get rid of Cruz now for taking vacation. Because Ted Cruz is another superman like Trump was suppose to be. He is suppose to be out there personally de-icing all those frozen windmills and well heads. Cruz should be out with a shovel clearing the roads. Ted Cruz should be in the super secret lab where Dick Cheney’s secret weather machine is stored and bring in warm air to Texas. Let’s treat him like democrats treated Trump. Trump should have been in the White house bio research lab and personally created a vaccine. Trump should have been in the White House manufacturing facility personally building Ventilators and N95 masks.
Meanwhile. The democrats are going to legalize tens of millions of illegal aliens. If you don’t like Cruz for taking vacation. Great. The illegals will vote him out soon enough and you’ll never have to worry about a republican in Texas ever again.
If people in Texas see him at their door, they might think he is coming for their guns, and it might not end well for him....

I am a Freeper and Cruz supporter who believes this was a fatal mistake politically and electorally. I suspect he will never win another election nor ever hold another office of any kind, It is difficult to express how knuckleheaded this was.
I’d rather have Cruz who made an optics mistake than El Puta Politico who will grab your guns, support the over running of the US by illegal, and support the communist take over.

Look. Cruz is a dad. His daughter’s school is closed. She asked if she and her friends could go to Cancun. He said OK and took his daughter and her friends to Cancun for a couple of days. Beto probably decided to take advantage of Cruz’s trip and attached himself to some libtard cause. Who would I rather have representing me? Cruz, by a football field length. I cannot understand why most people think this was a “drastic blunder”. There may well have been other Texans who left town to get away from the weather, but you didn’t hear about them. Beto is about as genuine and deeply concerned with the welfare of citizens as a snake is in being your friend. All he did was try to make some political hay out of a BIG NOTHING.
