Thank you, grey_whiskers, for posting the picture of Rush with his Punkin kitty. It's one of my favorites; now I picture Rush walking beside Jesus, and being introduced to Heaven and reunited with his loved ones who went before him, with his beloved Punkin back in his arms once again. :)
We had listened to Rush on and off for many years, at least back to the Clinton administration. I can't remember exactly when I first heard him, but it was at a time when I didn't think much about politics... and no, he didn't make me a conservative, as much as he made me realize that's what I already was - his views just sounded like plain old common sense to me, and I was becoming increasingly aware that many people around me didn't exactly share them. LOL His sense of humor was brilliant.
I'd never written to a talk show host before, and can say with pretty much certainty that I won't ever again, but I felt compelled to email Rush last Christmas Eve, to wish him a Merry Christmas with all our love. I told him all I've written above, and that we were praying for his healing every day. I said that even if God was getting ready to take him home, that he was surely one of the top 5 or 10 people I looked forward to meeting in Heaven one day, and mentioned some of the illustrious other ones to let him know what kind of company he was in. I told him half jokingly that since things are all perfect there, including our memories and minds, he would know exactly who I was from remembering this precise email, despite no doubt receiving hundreds of thousands of similar messages. I also told him I felt honored to reside in the same county as such wonderful Americans as both him and President Trump.
Today I am so glad I wrote him, instead of putting it off till it was no longer possible.
Godspeed, Rush, our happy warrior and brother! We will surely miss you!

I started watching Rush’s TV program. Stayed up late and went to work bleary eyed. Later, I had a portable radio at work with an earpiece. Hilarious Clintoon stuff on TV. He’ll be missed a lot.
I just re-watched the video of Rush’s Christmas show, in which he thanked us and his wife and others...😢
We lost our brother Rush today and that hurts. He is family.
The picture with Punkin is my favorite.

Talk about taking the wind out of the day this was it...
Before Rush went National, I would iron and listen to him as I did my ironing...then I had two little ones that loved Big Bird and Ernie...
Later, after two more little darlings, there was a lot more to do with 4 altogether...and Rush was my relief time...
He brought me up on Politics, he taught me how to look at things, and I really do not think if Rush hadn't of talked about the Clintons, and James Carvel, we would not had known just how bad these people were and she thought we, the ditto heads, were going to give her the ‘football’??? She has to be nuts!!!
Sometimes Rush would mention a book written by so and so and some of what it was about, off to the book store I would go...I have a large liberary because of Rush...
Then I found this site and cut me teeth more on politics, then I was part of Santorum press group in PA as Senator, what and eye opener that was, but if it hadn't been for Rush I never would have been ready for what I learned, saw and knew...
My heart is broken, but Rush doesn't hurt anymore, he is at peace with Our Lord...and on the first day of Lent, Ash Wednesday...such a beautiful day to meet Our Lord...
So with these and a lot of other memories, I will now pray for his family, it's always those of us that are left behind that hurt because we don't have that inspiration in our lives anymore but memories never die...
RIP my mentor.
“What a sad day it’s been for real America.

And I’m sure that he and Walter Williams are right now having a great discussion!
