I used to live in that district. Kinzinger knocked off Illinois’ most conservative congressman, carpetbagging into the district, and using business money to pose as a tea partier. The incumbent, Don Manzullo, was older and didn’t embrace the Tea Party movement, but he was MUCH more conservative, but didn’t know what hit him.

Illinois does NOT have run-offs, so a few of these guys ought to drop out. When I see candidates I know little about, I always dismiss the realtor. I’ve never seen one who was against a tax hike to fund the schools.
