I lived 100 yards off the end of a Naval Air Station once. A lot of booms, especially on the week ends when the reserve pilots were practicing their touch and goes. Noisy.

(Looking for the imaginary number 4 wire!)

Mama and daddy’s house is just a few miles from Ft. Hood so I grew up with the army type booms. When I bought my own home it was about 20-25 miles north of North Ft. Hood. Still heard the big booms. When I married this sweet thing I got now his house was 40 miles further north. Never heard the guns and booms here. We get a lot of helicopter activity between Hood and Ft. Worth but that’s different.

As a kid one my best friend’s dad was a retired colonel and he used to elaborate on what they were firing and where on the loud days. These things lately are different than that too. The nearest I can compare is that fertilizer plant at West going boom. But that was one big boom and done.
