All you have to do is look at history.
The Ukraine, 1932-33.
The Russians starved the Ukrainian farmers, while shipping grain back to Mother Russia. They then occupied large sections of the Ukraine.
Just like then, the Socialist are trying to create another Wiemar Republic in the US, in order to establish a socialist dictatorship here.
