That horrible music of my youth. Just yech.
Heart and Pentatonix are still my two favorite groups...I listen to them both on YouTube today for a lift.
They don’t write them like that anymore. And Ann. What pipes.
Great post! Thanks!
I cancelled them a long time ago when they expressed their contempt of conservatives-
Different strokes, I suppose. I loved Dreamboat Annie when it came out. I was a Sophomore in High School.
Saw Heart with The Beach Boys at Aloha Stadium back in ‘79.
There's one video with Ann singing Stairway to Heaven with an orchestra at the Kennedy Center that is amazing....

Now you’ve done it Nick, I see two hours of Heart videos ahead for me this morning. Will probably miss my dental appointment.........LOL!
Kennedy Center tribute to Led Zeppelin. Probable the best cover of Stairway ever. The opening guitar riffs by Nancy, the vocals by Anne plus the choir, incredible. And to add the icing on the cake, original drummer John Bonham’s son on drums. If you haven’t seen the video, watch it...you will be blown away.

Some music holds up well over time......so well it could be considered classic.....this shite is the McDonalds of music.
Please share with us your choices of great music that’s better.
Dreamboat Annie is a classic album. How many musical groups write, play and sing their own music? Not very many. And how many have female members, especially ones that play the guitar like Nancy Wilson and have a lead vocalist like Ann? Not that many. I’m not playing the gender card-—it’s just something unique and was not very common in the 70’s.
That’s funny. Why do people comment negatively on things that don’t interest them? Well, probably because they really do interest them and they pretend they don’t.
Still think she is the greatest female rock singer ever.
Urban legend at the time said this song was about Charles Manson and that Heart was fans of him. Anyone else recall that?
....and sister Nancy’s guitar shredding, riff rocking prowess.....
“Guitar shredding”? Um, no. Nancy was just a strummer. Just like old Brucie Boy Springsteen is a strummer, although he is worse.
I used to say to Mrs. Alexis that Springsteen is a washboard strummer, up and down strokes. His left hand always seems to be fingering some unknown chord on the neck of the guitar no matter what is the song. Who knows if his guitar is even plugged in.
Saw Heart at California Jam II. (notice I did not say “Cali” Jam)
I remember channel surfing in my car in the seventies, seemed like Barry Manilow was everywhere. I could always find a station playing a Heart tune, for some sanity.
I see Plante got a little weepy near the end, hard to tell though on my blurry screen.
