My niece’s boxer got into a tube of gorilla glue once. He ate a good bit of it and also managed to smear some on his fur and get himself glued to the other dog in the house. The glue he ingested had to be surgically removed.

Way back in the mid 70’s, when SUPER GLUE first appeared on the market, I was in the Marines and drove a buddy to his home in New Jersey for Thanksgiving because his car was in the shop.

While there, someone in the family had bought a tube of this new miracle stuff and we were all looking at it while they glued a broken cup handle back together.

They then laid the tube down on the coffee table and everybody went to the dining room.

Meanwhile, their two year old son was watching us and immediately went to the table and picked the tube up and took off the cap.

I saw the kid and rushed over to stop him from eating the goop, and his first reaction was to squeeze the tube as hard as he could to keep me from taking it away. I grabbed his little hand and immediately we were both glued together, hand to hand.

Of course, he started screaming and trying to pull away, but he couldn’t and that just made him scream that much more.

It took most of an hour and a couple of bottles of fingernail polish remover to get us separated, with the kid screaming the whole time.............
