That's what I'm saying -- a "call" at a port of call is a simple legal construct. Rather than litigate anything vs PM Minstrelshow, just have a friend lease a deep-water dock in AK!
A US-friendly country that already has flagged cruise ships by the dozens: Panama, Bahamas, even Liberia.
Nobody blinks a goddamn eye when China establishes ports everywhere on the globe; so if the Bahamas simply wanted to take advantage of a lease in Nome to establish a duty-free anchor drop and were leased a couple square acres and a dock to get it done, even Xiden couldn't stop it, much less Canada.
At least I can spell.
END THE Jones act,,,,
Prince Rupert "massive"? Never struck me as that. Population about 12,000 and small geographically.
It handles about 2 million shipping containers each year, with plans to expand to about 4 million.
That was tried a few years ago but failed.
Look for the Alaskan and or Florida politicians to file legislation to end the Jones Act now that Alaska and Florida are being hit hard economically by the Jones act.
I don't expect the BIDEN Group to be too sympathetic. -Tom
BINGO!! The LEFTISTS HATE PEOPLE HAVING FUN!!
Great point!
Canada to the USA: “Restart Keystone XL, Slo-jo, and we’ll give the Seattle ships a stopover in Victoria”
But of course, Slo-Jo & his minders could care less about giving the cruise industry’s impoverished workers a break
Gotta protect the pristine Arctic from the DREADED COVID-19, -20, -21, -22, etc ad nauseum
Right, will they ban oil tankers?
