We moved from Ohio to South Carolina going on four years ago. We live in the Bluffton area about fifteen miles west of Hilton Head and the coast. Twenty miles from Savannah, and the Savannah airport and about eighty five miles from Charleston. Bluffton has good schools and many private schools. The weather is interesting. This is the coolest winter since we have lived here. Thirties in the am and warming into 50’s and 60’s. Last winter was almost nonexistent. From mid September through May, it is beautiful. June through September is horrible hot and humid and bugs. But when it clears out in September it is glorious. We think groceries, dining is expensive here.
How are things otherwise in the old neighborhood. I am from Savannah myself, but, we are cruising the ICW right now and haven’t been home in a bit (though we did have to stay the summer in Beaufort for various reasons).
Do the police still have color days? It use to be, if you drove the wrong color car on the wrong day in Bluffton, you got a traffic ticket. s
Last winter, we stayed for a couple of weeks on Hilton Head in Shelter Cove. It was wet and nasty for the most part, but, indeed it was fairly mild.
